This is petrified wood. You can find different types of petrified wood across the planet. Here in Arizona, a national park is dedicated to this natural wonder. However the petrified wood appear to grow legs and walk away with tourists looking for keepsakes (which are sold legally at various tourist traps surrounding the park). This picture was taken inside the visitor centre.
